I'm assuming quite a few of you will have seen it already? What's the verdict?

I saw it yesterday. The clothes were - as was to be expected - gorgeous. However, I couldn't help but think they have become too far removed from what made the series appealling in the first place. It was TOO extravagant, TOO OTT. I mean, they were gorgeous, of course but I think there's a chance that they may alienate people who cannot relate to wearing high heels on a desert holiday.

Obviously Friday 28th May has been a date in my diary for a long time and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised at the level of comedy. Love the contrast from the first movie. SJP allowing Samantha's character to steel the show was a shock but a pleasant one and I have not laughed as much in a long time. Great to see a more lightened up Miranda and poor Charlotte struggling to keep up the pretence of her perfect life as we all do. Miranda and Charlotte's scene at the bar probably hit home to every mother in the world today and brilliantly portrayed the pressure society puts on us today to cope with juggling everything, genius. My love affair with SATC has grown ever stronger!

And the line, "sometimes you just have to get away with the girls" is so true.  However their Abu Dhabi is my Benidorm.  Keeping it real as always, Mandy x

Am I the only person who thinks Carrie should ditch both Big and Aidan and go back to being a single girl? If SATC ends with her and Big having a baby, it will be a travesty to equal her marrying the smug git at the end of SATC1.

It probably wasn't the best place to be reviewed (they slated the first one which I actually really enjoyed) but Newsnight Review made a good point. When you take the sex out of the city, what are you left with? I honestly believe the journey that the original series and first film took us on has had it's resolution. There is more mileage in the franchise, but that's by moving the characters on. 'Fashion PA' is right... The scene discussing motherhood is perfect (But that's coming from a gay man who has no idea really and truthfully) but the rest of the film could have been as honest - which at end of the day was what made the series great in the first place. Strong honest women. And 'ellenmeilee' I agree, what the hell was she doing with Big? Apart from Aidan, Carries choice in men have been very odd.

I think samantha stole the show in this film I was laughing the whole way through, but I thought they needed more of a story because like paul1275 said if you take sex out of the city what have you got left?! just fabulous clothes in abu dhaubi??

I loved the film, it was never meant to be deep and meaningful! Yes the story line was loose but it was a fun fashion-fix! I will no doubt be buying the DVD!

I loved this film and when i heard they spent milliions on clothing and accessories i couldnt wait to see the film and check the latest styles and it didnt disappoint me. After watching a sex in the city film, i always seem to match my wardrobe with what the girls are wearing on screen. Obviously a cheaper version of theirs. I soo love thier style!! I found a pair of Bourne designer shoes from www.ricohazel.com which when wearing them really makes me feel like one of the girls. Its called Tasha and its a lovely suede blue colour with sparkly crystal button on top.

Loved the look Carrie pulled off with the vintage J'adore Dior tank top. Anyone seen this top for sale in the UK? I really want one for my summer hols.

I am SUCH a massive fan of the TV series, and it makes me really sad to see that the whole SATC thing is now just cynical product-placemenmt overload for designer gear (some of it not that great) and United Arab Emirates. Lord only knows how much they were paid to cram all the product plugs in. We saw it happening towards the end of the TV series with in-yer-face plugs for AOL, Amazon, Absoluut, American Airlines etc etc I guess though that they have to get the money in from somewhere to fund the megabucks the stars demand?

Has anyone read Armistead Maupin's Tales of The City? There's a character in it called Connie Bradshaw who is a single gal in San Francisco, and on re-reading the books I would swear that this is the character who (loosely) inspired Candice's Carrie Bradshaw character.

Bustling gowns

Back openings: buttons vs. a zipper. The back of a gown is usually what’s seen during the ceremony, so there is often a design element or special ornamentation that is used as a focal point. When deciding whether to use a back zipper or the more traditional buttons, consider the overall design of the gown as well as the back detail(s). Sometimes a zipper is virtually undetectable because of the gown’s ornamentation or fabrication, and sometimes part of the beauty of the design is the dozens of buttons.    2010 Wedding Gownsbridal gowncheap wedding dressWedding Gownsgloveswedding dresscheap wedding dressbridal gowns2010 Wedding Gownsbridal gownsMother of bride dressesFlower Girl DressesProm DressMother of bride dresseswedding dressglovewedding dressestea length wedding dressbridal gownswedding dresseswedding dressMother of bride dressescheap bridal gownstea length wedding dressProm DressesMother of bride dressesWedding Gownsbridemaid dress

Bustling gowns can be tricky, especially since there are no hard and fast rules. The object is to make the gown look as graceful and flattering when bustled as it is full-length, and to achieve this, your gown may need to be bustled in one place or at a dozen points. Experimentation is the key to success.

Clothes aside, I think Sex In The City is so yesterday. The expression flogging a dead horse comes to mind & SJP bears more than a passing resemblance to a horse. She is far too thin and a needy character in the Series. I used to watch years ago. It makes me so cross that Retailers jump on the bandwagon and presume ALL women are into it in a big way. 'Get the S.I.T.C Look - boring! P.S I,m not a miserable type! :-) Love the Meerkats
