Welcome to my new website
I’ve designed MaryPortas.com for those people who love shops as much as I do.
Here’s the lowdown on what’s new.
1. Secret Shopper
For my new Channel 4 series Mary Portas: Secret Shopper, I’m asking the British public to name-and-shame, or name-and-fame the best and the worst customer service in the UK.
If you’re driven up the wall by half wit sales assistants or left unloved by faceless retailers who are all to happy to take your money but leave you short-changed with service then click here to become a Secret Shopper and play your part in transforming customer service in the UK.
2. Mary Loves
This is my daily update of things I love – from new music albums to theatre recommendations, exhibitions to visit, fashion finds and products to buy. These are my daily inspirations.
3. Shop Maps
Shop Maps is my uncompromising edit of the nation’s shops – from the high street to unknown hidden gems.
I’m starting with my home city, London, revealing my favourite local and independent shops, as well as my selection of the best well-known retailers. Check back over the coming weeks to see the full list of shops I’m adding, and join in by visiting and writing your own reviews.

Wonderful goods from you, man. I’ve remember your stuff prior to and you’re simply too excellent. I actually like what you have bought right here, really like what you are stating and the best way by which you say it. You are making it entertaining and you continue to take care of to keep it sensible. I cant wait to read far more from you. This is actually a terrific site.
Your SECRET SHOPPER is difficult to read
Astonishingly challenging cheers, I do believe your trusty visitors would certainly want more items along these lines maintain the good effort.
Incredibly beneficial cheers, I believe your current readers would definitely want significantly more writing such as this carry on the good work.
Will I have to work on Saturdays?
I signed up in your publication, so please keep up the informative posts? Perhaps there is a way to disable that online system,2
i have worked in retail for past 4 years, and have always tried to give the customer my full attention and help as much asi can. but i admit if i get a rude customer i will not be polite back and will do the minium my training says i must do. but most sales assitants feel like if all their getting is a queue of rude people why sould they be polite back. sometimes customers need to see how hard the busy shopping hours can be from the otherside before they can start to moan about service.
Small boots stores in Essex need sorting levels of service are not good enough and people are even being left without drugs for. Days head office ignore complaints from staff and customers yet demand staff to push how did we do tickets ??????? Often The most frequent customers are housebound and have no choice but to accept such service People caring for dying loved ones should not be chasing prescriptions for much needed and urgent pain relief
Thank God for you, Mary. The difference between customer service here and the US always amazes me. I feel sorry for American tourists coming here!
I would love you to tackle hair salons! In particular The Rush chain – which charges for every little thing – the blow dry, the conditioner, the toner – so you end up paying twice as much as you thought you were going to!
