Bought a 1700 mattress from Dreams in Knightsbridge. My delivery was cancelled without my knowledge because I subsequently changed the size. I have queued for hours on the phone listening to irritating music. I now have to wait for someone to call me back within a WEEK.

Purchased a diffuser gift set in the sale at Laura Ashley Home store Chichester – it was clearly marked half price on a display and had a sticker on on it but when I took it to the till I was charged full price. The store assistant could see the sale display from the till but she went to check. She then charged me the correct price but what really cheesed me off was there was no apology to me for her error in not firstly knowing what was in the sale and what the correct price was.

Just to give a bit of balance I actually had a very good experience of Dreams! I bought a bed and mattress from Dreams in the sale on-line from their website on 26th Dec and both were delivered within 2 hour time slot given on morning of 31st Dec. Good quality bed and mattress and very polite service from delivery men.

  4. Went there coz they are the biggest and wanted to see what they had – visited two or three bed shops and Dreams were the only place where I felt the staff cared about us getting the right bed rather than just buying something. Delivery was yesterday – on time and very polite guys. Well done…!

They waited til I’d taken a day off work to tell me on the day of delivery that my new bed (paid for up front) wouldn’t be delivered as it was out of stock. Rang the store. They insisted it was in stock. Rang customer services (on hold 15 mins) who were unhelpful. Asked to speak to a supervisor – was told she “doesn’t want to speak to you!”. Then they hung up on me. Still no bed. And all this after the “free delivery” team rang in advance to ask for £10 cash up front when they deliver! Not good.

As someone has mentioned previously I really should have done my homework and read some of these blogs before I parted with £828. ORDER No: 172G290. Here goes !! Went into the Burnley store and chose the Aspen bed on display King size. 6th Nov 2011. The bed on display was a dark coloured wooden Oak type bed. We asked for that one. We got the bed delivered on the day we were expecting it to be delivered but unfortunately we were out, the builder was in and he took delivery of it. We paid for the

    Chingford. 20 November.
Purchased a bed and mattress and specifically requested only items which were in stock as i needed them a.s.a.p. This restricted my choice to only two mattresses and certain beds. I was advised by the manager and sales person it would be delivered in 3 to 5 days maybe even sooner as items were in stock.
This turned out to be a lie. A call then saying delivery would be 5 Dec. No one turned up and now a new day scheduled for 17 Dec. refund process horrific so cant get one!

  8. Done by Dreams on December 9, 2011

Broken promises of delivery and very poor customer service. Ordered bed/mattress and paid for old bed to be taken away. Took old bed away but didn’t delivery my bed/mattress. Arranged delivery again only for only a mattress to be delivered which turned out to be someone elses. Have asked for money back which they won’t give until the mattress is collected (which Dreams didn’t know I had until I told them). Have they arranged to collect mattress – NO.

  9. Disgruntled shopper on November 22, 2011

Dreams Harrogate store. Week of 14th November 2011.
Very depressing place. Met by salesman who had pearced earing, tatoos on neck and looked bored out of his mind. Obviously didn’t enjoy working there – didn’t seem a bit interested at all and didn’t seem to know much at all either. Couldn’t offer us any advice on what we were looking for – didn’t seem to have a clue. Couldn’t wait to leave the store.

  10. Memory foam I'd rather forget on November 13, 2011

I wish I’d read these reviews before considering buying a new mattress from Dreams. I told the salesman I didn’t want to be too hot in bed and I now have a memory foam mattress which slowly cooks me through the night. In a call to “customer service” I was told there’s nothing wrong with the mattress, it’s me & I have to put up with it for 30 days before I can return it. It’s my fault apparently that I came out of the shop with something that isn’t suitable. Dreams? Nightmares more like!

  11. Ordered and told 7 days delivery time them confirmed as 6 weeks .Bed arrived and what a pile of cheap tat .emailed customer services and told I would have to pay an additional £19 to have a replacement delivered .They can stick it i’ll buy a replacement from a proper company .

Ordered a mattress from Dreams in Leicester on 7th September. Salesman said it was in stock and it would be delivered the next week. Current scheduled delivery date is 2nd December! I can’t repudiate the contract because the credit agreement is with another company. Dreams take at least seven minutes to answer the phone. The operators sound bored, indifferent and unhelpful. Once you’ve signed the contract they treat you with contempt.

  14. Philip7777 on October 22, 2011

Staff eager for sale so bad tried to push other beds an when customer service called to say bed ok for delivery she was so rude and sarcastic !! Awful awful customer services! Pick bed up tomorrow so will see if it’s ok

  15. Kathryn on October 8, 2011

Brislington in Bristol. Bought a bed in a sale on the bank holiday weekend in August and we were warned of a waiting list. However, delivery date set for Monday 10th Oct. Received phone call today saying bed won’t be delivered – it’s not even in stock and they don’t know when it will be in stock. Was told to phone customer services to complain.

  16. Gem2418 on October 6, 2011

Ordered a bed online which said it would be delivered within 7 days and that they call you to arrange delivery. 6 days passed so I checked the order status and it said ‘awaiting stock’ so I rang and the guy I spoke to said that it was in stock and they were just waiting for one of the parts. So it was really out of stock! So they had lied on the website. Got the bed in 2 weeks after another phone call to complain and 2 calls to me saying I hadn’t paid the full balance when I had.

  17. Mrs Kidd on September 23, 2011

Dreams beds are totally incompetent in my opinion. I ordered a bed 2 weeks ago and my confirmed delivery date was Monday Sept 19th, that morning at 8.30 I get a call from Dreams saying the bed hadn’t been put on the lorry, then he changed his story and said it was infact out of stock. called customer service who offered another bed, due to be delivered today (Sept 23rd) guess what, another call this bed is now out of stock. Have asked for a refund. Awful service!!

  18. dundeepissedoff on September 13, 2011

dundee branch. promised delivery in 2 weeks. 2 month on, no sign of bed. a;ready paid in full but now cant get refund. they cant even give us an estimated date of delivery as the item is out of stock. customer service non existent.

  19. Brought a bed earlier this year … 6 months of complaints to dreams about the poor quailty of the bed and matress and we are £1500 down … no refund or replacement in sight. Now trying the section 75 route as we used the 0% offer deal from dreams when we brought the bed very poor quality company in everyway

  20. Lesley bull on July 31, 2011

Purchased a bed frame when it was delivered it was damaged, took a day off work for a new one to be delivered they never turned up told them i wanted a refund bed was collected 2wks later money was still not refunded back onto my card, when i phoned customer services was told they have the rights to hold my money for 31 days never heard of such rubbish never shop at dreams again.

  21. Tallulah on July 4, 2011

OMG Where do you start? I wish I had read the MANY negative reviews for this company before I began my nightmare with them! In a nutshell – dreadful poor quality over-priced beds, salespeople who haven’t a clue what they are talking about AND, worst of all, QUITE POSSIBLY THE MOST UNPLEASANT, UNHELPFUL, UNFRIENDLY CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE EVER. Never mind ‘Dreams’ this store is the stuff Nightmares are made of. STAY AWAY.

Brought a new bed and mattress from the shop in enfield, delivery lads were briliant

Buy a superking bed, Bromley, 2011

Grubby, gloomy store, no price lists. Indifferent staff, with hard sell disguised as advice. Tatty display beds, although staff at pains to explain that buyers would received perfect stock – as if this was a bonus! We wanted to see it, not shoddy shop-soiled seconds! Dirty old stock & grasping sales spiel, so we left quickly. Have since read atrocious reports of dreams beds supply and service, so we had a lucky escape and would avoid like the plague.

I went to the Mansfield branch of dreams, after hearing all the bad press i did go to bensons beds first, i went in the mansfield dreams purely for price comparison as its on the same retail park, on arrival i was greeted well by two young men, after a short while i was offered a hot drink!!! i was a little shocked by how relaxed it was, but, after searching around we bought our bed and mattress here, it was delivered on time! I could not ask more. dreams have gone up in my book! A pleasure

  25. unhappy with Dreams on May 17, 2011

Just got off the phone from Dreams outlet in Eccles. I have been left with a duff wardrobe and waiting for them to replace for 3 weeks. After two failed delivery attempts from their sub contracted delivery company I called Dreams to complain and they refused to give me thier manager or customer feedback details. They said because of Data Protection! Sorry Dreams looks like I’ll have to publish on the internet instead. Do not recommend

    Dreams Cardiff Store
    April 2011
    Rude salesman.. poor customer relations.
Asked salesman to let us wander around the store to allow us to make a decision without constant pressure selling.Wouldn’t leave us alone for a second. We knew what bed we wanted and we knew what mattress we just wanted to make a decision about a headboard. When i ASKED HIM POLITELY TO LEAVE US ALONE HE REPLIED” ITS MY STORE I CAN GO WHERE I LIKE”.
i KNOW HIS NAME IF THE MANAGER WOULD LIKE IT.,

  27. Grimsby store, All the staff were stood outside talking, then as me and my girlfriend were going to walk out one walked in ( malcolm from lincoln, arm in pot ) every bed we went to the first question was shall we buy this one today then? he was more bothered about what sale would be better for him than what was better for us. the sale was rubbish. didnt feel comfortable, very pushy. wont be going there again.

  28. Linda on March 30, 2011

Went into the Filton, Bristol, branch a year ago to look at beds and mattresses. All three staff on duty were chatting to a couple and none of them asked if we wanted any assistance. When we asked about the price of a particular mattress as there was no price tag on it, we were told we should go home and check out their website!! Unbelievable as we were in their store at the time!! Shoddy customer service and we bought our bed elsewhere.

  29. Dreams is rubbish on March 17, 2011

(cont), so wasted a day off waiting for a bed that was never coming- told that I had to rearrange delivery or would give me a refund- I wanted the bed I paid for on the date i’d arranged for it to be delivered on- not a way to do business- would never use them again!!! would be 0 stars is possible

  30. Dreams is rubbish on March 17, 2011

Bought bed in Nottingham- staff were great and very helpful- was on way to 5 stars BUT their delivery and customer service team is horrendous. Arranged delivery for a date, got a text the day before saying delivery had changed to a date I couldnt be in on- rang them straight away and they put it back to the original date- so all good. Until the delivery date came- bed didnt turn up and when I phoned them they said it wasnt due that day even though I had a text confirming that day-

  31. Craig on March 14, 2011

Simply rude. Im all for upselling but it was a push to far. We bought our bed from somewhere else!

  32. Just Jules on March 7, 2011

The sales person jumped on me within a minute of walking in. My wife saw a bed she liked and we were steered away from it. We tried to buy the bed we wanted but the sales person kept pressuring us to buy one we didn’t like/Lancaster/ 7th March

Dreams New Malden. Bought a wooden bed last Friday late afternoon and put deposit down. Sales assistant did NOT mention 24 hr cooling off period rules. On Sat I checked measurements of bed and found it was too long for the room so rang to cancel order and was told to ring customer services on Monday. Did that and was told that 24 hrs had been exceeded so they were taking 20% of my deposit!! Have previously bought 2 beds from Dreams but will NEVER be darkening their door again. Rip off!!

  34. Anne Haselhurst on February 23, 2011

bought a new mattress from them. Salesman was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Mattress delivered when (or even before) he said it would be. delivery men phoned twice to say they were on their way. mattress heavenly!

  35. Phoebe B on February 15, 2011

It’s true! they DO lie about delivery times and they DO lie about replacements!!! It takes the longest time for them to reply to emails, I had to call up so many times to remind them I had sent emails! and they ARE patronising!

I recently purchased a bed from Deams in Cannock. I have to say I thought the store layout was superb and the sales assistant Maz was really helpful. The Manager gave me £50 of bed linen free as a thank you for my purchase. They delivered the bed on the day agreed and gave me a two hour time slot for delivery.I have to say fantasic service alround and thanks again to Maz.

Went to the Guildford store on Sunday with my boyfriend, to get some ideas what bed we may buy next. Initially there was a few members of staff standing around and thought it would be awkward. A staff member approached us and introduced himself (chris) i made it clear i wasn’t buying that day, so thought he would lose interest. He was so helpful and listened to our needs and gave us so much information that we will go back. All of the staff got on with jobs & we felt comfortable to try the beds

  38. Wendy on February 5, 2011

WOW!! Real service does exist. Dreams in Sheldon, B’ham didn’t just want to get a sale they really wanted to get my elderly mother the right bed. I too work in retail and this sets the new standard for me. Made us feel relaxed and confident we were in the right place.Thank you Noel, David and team.
