    Witney Oxfordshire.
LOVE this store. Staff are always so smart, helpful and geniunely nice. Been shopping here for years and think its a much calmer and enjoyable shopping experience. I think it’s value you for money, you get what you pay for. Quality products.

  2. I dont think you understand how hard it is to acctually be a partner at waitrose and you really dont understand how high the standards are that we are expected to meet. A common issue I have noticed is the reason why your branch doesnt sell something it once did, this is because it does not sell, just because u want it not everyone does. why sell a product that wont make any proffit?
Also maybe if you treated us better we wouldnt be so frustrated to serve you…trollys are VERY painfull

  3. Disappointing service in Sheffield this morning. Typical day and no staff to man tills. Qs on all checkouts. Why no diy tills??

  4. After theft of my bag manager at Waitose in Westfield Shepherds Bush could not have been more helpful or supportive. Chair, water, called security, lent me their phone and checked out my shopping to be paid back later. never going to be a great experience but great customer service.

Overpriced, snooty customers who think they are an elite shopping race and would not be seen dead in any other retailer as it is below them, and money to burn,i shopped at asda and used the asda price comparison site and i could not believe what it was telling me,asda prices for the same products for my shopping was £22.14 cheaper than waitrose,i checked this out and by going in to waitrose, and it was actually £23.01 cheaper!disgrace waitose, november 2011,swaffham norfolk

Richmond – AWFUL – Hideous new layout – massive queues no trolleys. Soon to end my habit of a lifetime and shop in Tescos if they don’t improve!

Waitrose, Morningside, Edinburgh. 25 Nov 2011
Appalling. Security guard kept following me and I felt intimidated and self-conscious. I bought the bare minimum and left in disgust. Sainsburys for me in the future

Thame 24/11/11. It is always an absolute pleasure shopping at Waitrose. I don’t know where they find the staff. They are all so polite and friendly and seem to love working for Waitrose. Every other retailer should pay a visit to see what customer service really means.

  9. Wimfan2000 on November 20, 2011

Windsor – they have changed the self-service tills to card only in an apparent effort to speed up the transactions although the actual reason why there were such big queues at these tills was because they are so big, cumbersome and confusing to use and thus people took longer
    to scan through their shopping.

It’s amazing how all of the other major stores (Tesco, Asda, M&S, Boots etc.) can manage to accept both cards and cash as well as having much smaller till units yet Waitrose can’t!

    Internet Delivery:

I cannot understand Waitrose’s reputation for customer service. In comparison to Sainsburys or Tesco, it does not match up. If there is a problem with a product (does not ripen, ‘gone off’, wrong quantity), their telephone customer service generally fob you off with an excuse (or state that they will inform the shop), rather than seriously entertaining the idea that you might be right and therefore in need of a refund.

Newport Shropshire technical computer error , see blogs waitrose have major it issues resulting in theft accusasion ,hopeless management response , are we really to beleive happy shoppers rush home to write rave reviews , who are they kidding , something smells here

  12. Beatrice Kogan on November 17, 2011

On five occasions this year I reported to various managers and duty managers how dirty the store was.
Today I took pictures of food smeared on shelves as per usual.
There was rubbish here and there on the floor as per usual and some shelves were seriously untidy.
In a deep freeze cabinet there was a packet of frozen fish stuck back with tape on one side and nearby two more were unsealed.
I did not check all of the store…
Total lack of care and hygiene regularly shown at the Finchley store.

Waitrose, Brent cross, wonderfull customer service from a young girl[ Nehaw], she truly went out her way to help me. Nicole

  14. Laura from Biggin Hill are you actually KIDDING?! Blossom Hill is the uneducated chav’s choice of wine and I personally think it is a credit to Waitrose that they don’t stock it! Maybe instead of trawling the lower end supermarkets for it you should broaden your horizons?

    Formby, Merseyside.
Appalling Click and Collect service for John Lewis. Lies at the customer service desk, saying ‘your best to return any goods to the post office because they cannot provide any proof that you have brought the items back to them’ and they ‘dont do refunds either’. Made a complaint to both John Lewis and to Waitrose.

  16. Mini1 on November 4, 2011

Little Waitrose, Chester, Friday 30th October 2011. Our first venture into this new miniaturised Waitrose. Everything is laid out well. Plenty of self-checkouts, however space severely lacking for trollies, and woefully small ‘bagging’ areas that are positioned too high on the self checkout. However, staff appeared to be extremely helpful indeed – thumbs up.

  17. Portia on November 4, 2011

Romsey Hampshire 4th November 2011 11am. Shelves empty of the most basic foods such as porridge chicken soya milk and semi skimmed.Rotting veg in the trays and shelves empty and scruffy. Stale cakes and buns. Not the first time I’ve complained over the last 20 years. My e mail to head office was ignored. The Assistant manager has conceded in the past he is not proud of his store . I love John Lewis but this Waitrose is poor

    Waitrose Bromley: October 14th 2011

Clean tidy friendly staff. Stock that is due to expire have generous reductions to clear stock.

    Quick and efficient till service

Very high standards of customer care

    Waitrose Tonbridge – October 29th

    Dirty, untidy and lazy staff.

Nearing the end of the day’s trading items barely reduced in price when other Waitroses offer genuine reductions to clear perishable stocks

Items they have look like they have been in a jumble sale

This branch doesn’t impress me and thank god I don’t live this way any more as I would not visit that branch

  20. Waitrose Oadby Leicestershire. Really well run store on the ball with almost everything . Nothing is too much trouble ! However there seems to be a small problem with things going off before there sell by date mostly fish and seafood. But I love this store so I keep going back.

  21. Jenny B on October 26, 2011

Always shop in the Kingston branch – fabulous store with fantastic staff. ALWAYS helpful especially the Wine Department .. they always notice when there are queues and open more tills when it’s busy. Have noticed the Raynes Park and Wimbledon branches (both smaller) offer same great service too.

  22. Nicole tyler on October 25, 2011

Waitrose, Whetstone,Barnet, extremely unhelpfull, rude & arrogant, no eye contact with 1 at all, absolutely disgracefull.

  23. Am I tired of the complacency of this brand! Being near a branch was a big criterion in moving house, and we have a choice of four. Fresh food? Customer service is a 20 mile round trip to return fruit and veg that’s gone off in three days. Our village shop sells better meat. The final screw-up this week is managing to deliver dead flowers twice to a sick friend. That really cheered her up, even if it has improved her compost. Plus point? Wide aisles

  24. New Malden. Lots and lots of “temporarily unavailable” green stickers. After shopping in this store I usually have to go shopping again for all the unavailable items. However, this hardly ever happens when I shop there on line. This is just a basic stock control issue (or lack of it). I have also been told by a check out operator in the “baskets only” line that I had too many items in my basket and was slowing the queue down!

  25. Biggin Hill – 18/10/2011
Very fed up – the alledged medal winner for wines no longer stock Blossom Hill Red Wine – I have to visit the local Co-op Petrol Station for the red wine of my choice – not very good for a supposed superior seller of wine!

  26. Beryl A. on October 18, 2011

Just the best Supermarket around! The staff here are always very helpful and have excellent product knowledge. It has to be down to the quality of management and training as this seems to be lacking in so many shops these days. Well done Waitrose Haslemere keep it up. October 2011. By the way you can’t please everyone, but they do much better than most!

  27. Alice on October 16, 2011

Poor response from help desk in Farnham branch when I asked for help to start using their hand held scanning system. Two members of staff were there, one was occupied the other one seemed resentful that I had asked for help. She just kept demanding which card would I use without explaining the system or why a card was needed. Quite often staff chatting amongst themselves, you have to wait for a break to get their attention.

  28. I love Waitrose specifically for its wine selection. Sadly, I don’t enjoy having to wait for a checkout assistant who is old enough to serve me. Last time I had to wait 25 minutes for a supervisor to clear the sale!

  29. Briany on October 12, 2011

Portishead – helpful staff, good layout, quality produce. Ist choice for regular shopping.

  30. Teresa on October 11, 2011

Hertford – October. Staff consistently helpful and friendly. It is always a pleasure to shop in this store.

  31. Rob White on October 11, 2011

Stunning service from the staff at chandlers ford, never too busy to show you to the product and often advise on cooking ingredients.staff actual own the business and this I believe adds to a sense of responsibly and accountability

  32. They understand customer needs. Staff are friendly, food is very well laid out. At waitrose food, fashion and home at canary wharf I enjoy the weekly shop. Anytime there is an issue with an item or on my receipt they deal with it like nowhere else. This place is a model for how all supermarkets should be. Only snag is the lack of a big frozen food selection you would get elsewhere but I guess the local market doesnt demand it due to it’s main clientele being office workers or people with flats!

Fantastic Little Waitrose Store, Brilliant Assortment, Brilliant Staff. Just Simply Brilliant!

  34. Beatrice Kogan on October 5, 2011

Room for improvement at Waitrose Finchley London
I reported on three occasions that there was dirt over many food product shelves, mostly consisting of old food stuck here and there. They should have seen it themselves.
For a few months there has not been any organic cottage cheese on the shelf though the price ticket is still there.
The Chocolate Tart Slices was rather unpleasant. The pastry tasted stale although the use by date was five days later. The filling was not nice.

  35. Waitrose Upminster is always exceptional. The service is second to none with the staff being fantastically well groomed and polite. I always recommend Waitrose to friends and family.

  36. Denise Marr on September 19, 2011

l shop at both waitrose in Edinburgh. Love the staff, the produce, and how eager they all are to offer excellent service. l use waitrose twice a week, and living alone, is perfect for me.

Twice in the Wellington store I saw small children playing with gingerbread men displayed in the bakery section at childrens’ eye level. When the parents noticed, the kids were told to ‘put that back, it’s not wrapped’. I asked head office to wrap all the kid’s biscuits, not just some of them, to stop this happening. They weren’t interested. Got trading standards involved and they told Waitrose to wrap the biscuits. Result! I let Waitrose head office know but they didn’t even bother to reply.

    Waitrose Raynes Park.
This is an attractive store, well-stocked and well-staffed. I’ve generally been happy with what I’ve bought but did notice out-of-date yoghurts and items on their expiry date that had not been reduced, so they need to keep an eye on sell-by dates. Most staff are very helpful, although shelf-stackers aren’t always polite and managers spend too much time talking and getting in people’s way. The tills are well-staffed though staff in the self-checkout area tend to wander off.

  39. Extremely Disappointed on September 10, 2011

Used Waitrose home delivery service for the first time. Multiple items missing including some that had been charged for. Several emails later to Waitrose Customer Services and I get offered a small discount off my next shop. Simply not acceptable. They should refund for goods not delivered. It seems that Waitrose are great when everything goes well but are simply incapable of resolving issues when they arise. A great pity really. A good shop let down by shoddy customer service.

  40. Waitrose Great Malvern generally.
I like this supermarket best of any, & want one down the road from my house, complete with the views from the car park.
It is spacious and clean and compared to Tesco a completely Zen shopping experience. The naice young people on the checkouts are soo Malvern too. There is lots of bacon in the rolls served in the cafe. Worth every extra penny.

  41. Henleaze Bristol- I would like to rate this higher but c6pm on a July evening the F&V stocks had major gaps. Very nice man on deli tho the sp offer ham had sold out.
Portishead home delivery x3 trial runs; rather erratic, 1st time lots of non-avail items but extras sent (& charged for!). 3rd time no milk, tho charged for, rang up & send would send then rang to say couldn’t. Also overcharge shown on order re 1x sp offer, emailed to query, was asked to send copy order, did, no reply despite chase.

  42. Went into store and wasn’t very clean, went to ask a member of staff about the state of the place and she just shrugged her shoulders. Poor service.

  43. Various stores, Putney, Wandsworth, Wimbledon, wherever I find one. Absolutely the gold standard in customer service, food quality, queuing times, cleanliness of stores – every aspect is better than the competition, great ethics, fantastic markdowns late in the day (and even earlier) – my number one choice of supermarket, Tesco and co could learn a lot from this chain – but I guess without shareholders they can do so much more for the staff and customers.

  44. Savvymum on August 10, 2011

This is by far my favourite supermarket. The ambience is wonderful, the shelves are always well stocked and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

I really like the way I can scan my own shopping and put it straight into my shopping bag whilst I am walking round the store. I then just need to pay at the quick checkout.

Brilliant customer service – more retailers need to take lessons from Waitrose.

    Waitrose Witney Oxon
Nice people but no longer stock the range of products I want to buy and still expensive. The Tesco idea is really daft as we have a large Tesco in Abingdon which does have everything and it is cheaper overall. I draw the line at Tesco but do now visit more local shops and also the Co-op, which has good ethical standards. I am sorry that they have driven away a good customer and don’t seem to want to listen.

  46. Food = lovely as usual.

Toilets = flooded with yellow liquid from the door. Couldn’t enter. Clearly hadn’t been checked like it mentioned on the door’s cleaning rota. Mentioned to staff but no urgency to clean or apology for not being able to use.

Something I’d expect at Tesco, not Waitrose.

    Waitrose Menai Bridge.
Saturday July 16th..Decided to shop at our local Waitrose using the scan and shop service. My husband and i did our shop and went to customer services to pay…we were then told our shopping had to be re-scaned, this we were assured was just a routine spot check. From the looks from other shoppers they thought we were shop lifting. I felt so humiliated. Then the young lady scanning my shopping told me not to take it personally..how rude! A major re-think needed.

  48. James Foster on July 17, 2011

I love shopping in Waitrose in Welwyn Garden City. The range is excellent. Availability is good. The shop is a medium size so I get everything I need quickly. It is very clean and well lit.
The staff have a good attitude. They are friendly and helpful.
Despite what some people think Waitrose is not snobby or overpriced. If there is one near you then give it a try. I promise that you’ll enjoy shopping more than say Tesco’s.

  49. flyingby on July 6, 2011

    Swaffham, Norfolk –
Clean, tidy, (mostly) helpful staff (supervisor level spend far too much time clearly gossiping by the customer service point!).
    Very pleasant place to shop.

    Waitrose Harborne, yesterday, ~9.30am

I’ve shopped at Waitrose Harborne for about 8 years. I accept Waitrose’s high prices in exchange for excellent customer service.

    But not yesterday.

I waited 10 minutes for staff to turn up to serve me. When i expressed my frustration and that I should have shopped at Sainsbury the member of staff laughed at me.

I complained to the manager who said ‘okay’ and walked away.

Waitrose, Harborne is in urgent need of close attention from their head office.
