Secret Shopper Guidelines
These guidelines help us ensure that the Secret Shopper reviews we publish are accurate, relevant and fair.
All Secret Shopper reviews must meet standards in these categories:
Comment Etiquette
- No swearing, threats, prejudiced comments, hate speech, sexually explicit language or other non-family-friendly content.
- Please follow standard etiquette when writing your review. Do not use ALL CAPS, excessive typographic symbols, HTML tags or slang.
Written by actual shoppers
- Reviews must be based on the shopper’s experience, not second-hand information or hearsay (unverified information, rumors or quotations from other sources or the reported opinions/experience of others).
- Reviews must be true, fair, and constructive.
- While reviews can be negative, they must not be defamatory or offensive in nature
- Reviews must not personally name individual employees of a retailer or organisation being reviewed
- Reviews written by owners or management posing as shoppers will not be accepted. If you are an owner or manager and would like to respond to a comment, please email secretshopper@maryportas.com
Unique and independent
- You may write one review on any given organisation. Secret Shoppers may submit subsequent reviews for additional visits as follows:
o Review(s) may be submitted for subsequent shop visit(s) one month after the publication of your last review.
Important note: If you’d like to update a review you wrote, please contact webmaster@maryportas.com
- Reviews should contain only original content and no quoted material from other sources.
- All e-mail addresses and contact information are not allowed in reviews, nor is promotional material of any kind. We reserve the right to reject any URL for any reason.
- Please do not include questions for other reviewers or comments about other reviews, reviewers or management responses.
Age requirement
- All reviewers must be over the age of 13.
Your personal details
- The e-mail address associated with your account must be correct. We may need to contact you if there is a problem with your review, so no fake e-mail addresses, please.
- We will never publish your email address, and are happy for you to use an alias rather than your real name.
